The Union Ministry for Education and Skill Development &
Entrepreneurship has introduced the Malaviya Mission – Teachers Training
Programme, which falls under the University Grants Commission (UGC).
This initiative aims to revamp existing teacher capacity-building
schemes in higher education.
Objectives:
The primary goal of this program is to offer customized training to
educators, thereby elevating the quality of higher education.
The program will benefit 15 lakh teachers across India through 111
Malaviya Mission centers, formerly known as Human Resource Development
Centers (HRDCs).
Its objectives also include preparing teachers for the future, enhancing
training quality, nurturing leadership abilities, and aligning with the
National Education Policy (NEP).
Themes:
The program focuses on various themes, such as multidisciplinary
education, Indian knowledge systems, academic leadership, and more, with an
emphasis on holistic development and lifelong learning.
