Recently, the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy revealed in
Rajya Sabha that about 25% of sanctioned solar power projects have
been commissioned.
Key Highlights
Under the ‘Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega
Solar Power Projects’
57 solar parks of total capacity 39,285 MW were announced.
Although installed capacity stands at 10,027 MW (~25%) only.
As of October 2022, 61 GW of solar power capacity is installed.
Break up of other renewable energy segments (Installed, Nov-2021)-
Wind Power : 40.03 GW
Large Hydro: 46.51 GW
Bio-Power: 10.62 GW
Nuclear Power: 6.78 GW
