Why in Broadcast?

  • The leaders at India’s G20 Summit came up with a joint communique named the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration — after months of work and last minute negotiations. The communique is filled with deliverables on a range of issues. It is also crafted in a different way, not the usual paragraphs that are structured in a joint declaration.

  • The Leaders of the G20, met in New Delhi on 9-10 September 2023, under the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
  • Leaders of G20 committed to:
  • Accelerate strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth.
  • Accelerate the full and effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
  • Pursue low-GHG/low-carbon emissions, climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable development pathways by championing an integrated and inclusive approach.
  • G20 will accelerate its actions to address development and climate challenges, promote Lifestyles for Sustainable Development (LiFE), and conserve biodiversity, forests and oceans.
  • Improve access to medical countermeasures and facilitate more supplies and production capacities in developing countries to prepare better for future health emergencies.
  • Focus on effectively addressing the debt issues of developing countries.
  • Scale up financing for achieving SDGs.
  • More efforts & resources for achieving the Paris Agreement.
  • Pursue reforms for better, bigger and more effective Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
  • Improve access to digital services and digital public infrastructure for sustainable and inclusive growth.
  • Promote sustainable, quality, healthy, safe and gainful employment.
  • Close gender gaps and meaningful participation of women in the economy as decision-makers.
  • Strengthening the voice of developing countries in global decision making.

For the Planet, People, Peace and Prosperity

  • Deeply concerned with the immense human suffering and the adverse impact of wars and conflicts around the world.
  • G20 acknowledge that geopolitical and security issues have significant consequences for the global economy.
  • War in Ukraine has led to global food and energy in security. It has affected the supply chains, macrofinancial stability, inflation and growth.
  • All the states were called upon to uphold the principles of international law including territorial integrity and sovereignty, international humanitarian law, and the multilateral system that safeguards peace and stability.
  • Today’s era must not be of war.
